Typing: Practicalities for the laptop user, Twilight Session 2 on Zoom

Tuesday 23rd November 2021 at 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

How fast is fast enough? What are the benefits of touch typing? Which letters should you start to learn first? Is it best to learn on a standard keyboard, or is a smaller laptop keyboard OK? How far from the screen should you sit? What is the best chair height? And, is it a good idea for beginners to turn off spellcheck?

The use of typing by school children is a hot topic at the moment, and we’re here to help.

Join us for our next Twilight online training session. Hosted by the NHA’s Interim Chair and experienced Specialist Teacher, Amanda McLeod, Practicalities for the laptop user aims to help everyone get off to a great start with typing. During two, hour-long “Zoom” sessions, Amanda will introduce the most up-to-date guidance on typing instruction, then answer your questions.

The first session is on 16 November; see the Session 1 event page to book for Session 1. Use the form at the bottom of this event page to book for Session 2.

Places for each session must be booked in advance and are just £10 per session for non-members or £7.50 for members (non-refundable).

After receipt of payment, a “Zoom” attendance code will be sent to you by email. Any problems, please contact admin@nha-handwriting.org.uk.

Please help us spread the word by telling friends and colleagues. We look forward to seeing you.
